My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer Dec. 27th, 2011. I had three large tumors in my left breast, I also had two positive lymph nodes and so with 5 positive biopsies I started my journey. In the beginning, it was a whirlwind and within a week, I was getting a port and preparing for chemo and the rush to save my life was on. Eight months later (August 20th) after stopping chemo (12 sessions) and not having surgery (a suggested double mastectomy) or radiation like my doctors wanted me to, I sat at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois and heard the results of a mammogram, MRI, Pet Scan and blood tests were that they could find no cancer in my body. The nurses and doctors were baffled and no one could explain how I could have had this terrible cancer and it was now gone, except for me. I said the Lord healed me through prayers, education, diet and supplements. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed, it is not just about on cancer, but my life and day-to-day thoughts and activities. There are suggested websites, blogs, videos and more here that I believe can benefit those dealing with cancer and those who want to be preventative. My hope is that you and yours will learn, be encouraged and healed. My family prays every night for those with cancer and that you will be not only be healed but that you will live long and happy lives.

Love and Blessings on your journey.

Mammograms - February 13, 2014

God communicates to me through a variety of ways. I have auditorily heard his voice, I have heard Him through others in words on the page and in speech, I've had many signs and then confirmations and of course He speaks through His word and creation. But one of my favorite things is when He speaks with humor.

So, I went to MD Anderson a couple weeks ago to just touch base, and of course the suggested course of action was to get a mammogram and a ultrasound to see if there is any cancer growth. The hospital was to call to schedule an appointment. Well, they didn't and so yesterday I called to set up an appointment. MDA told me to call Methodist hospital, which I did and then I had all kinds of trouble getting through and then even leaving a message. The whole frustrating process was probably 10 minutes and then I never received a call back.

This morning I woke at 3 am, it's 4 now as I write this. Anyways, I am on the computer doing work for the school, checking emails, etc. and I get these things coming through my computer and wow!.... Is God trying to tell me something?  Well you decide. Read these articles.

New Mammogram Screening Guidelines FAQ

Mammograms Do Not Reduce Breast Cancer Deaths

Mammograms are more harmful than you think

The doctor at MD Anderson didn't feel anything with his hands, but he wants to double check and I think at this point I may wait and just get my second Thermogram and go from there. If the Thermogram doesn't show anything then I think I'll trust that for now. God is good.

That's it for now.
Be Blessed today!
